Our Fire-starter comes from Nehemiah 9. Our Fire-starter thought God is not only a loving God but he is also a Just God.
We are living in a day where unjustness happens day in and day out. We live in a society where justice is not served on many occasions. Our court system is unjust, people in our churches are unjust in some sense and even people in general can be unjust.
Many times in our culture we see unfairness take place. Where someone has been murdered and the offender gets very little time and punishment or even no punishment at all. Let me make myself clear there is a judgment day coming for believers and unbelievers and there will not be a cause of injustices in our case.
We all believe that God is perfect and if he is perfect there is not one bit of unjustness in him. God will always do what's right.. The problem is every single one of us thinks we know what's best and we don't. By the way, God never asked for your opinion when it comes to right or wrong because without him we would not know right from wrong.
I love verse 33. Notice it if you will. Nehemiah 9:33 KJV
Howbeit thou art just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:
Nehemiah said,... thou are just.... Sometimes we wonder if God is fair but remember Judgment may have not come yet. We look at the sins that have been in our country for a while and we wonder why people are still sinning against a Holy God and not being punished for it. Remember, Justice has not been served yet.
There are many people in Hell that have cried on the top of their lungs saying that they do not believe in Hell and even said there was no God have now realized how just God truly is.
You mark it down it may seem like justice has not been served but you remember one day it will.
Think about how merciful our Savior is to us. Justice sometimes has not been served to show you his mercy to see if you will turn to him in true repentance. Realize this, it isn't God's fault that you will die and go to Hell. If you reject him then that is on you. He has shown his mercy to you in everyday life. The creation tells you there is a God, His Word tells you there is a God, and His creatures tell you there is a God. We all know that there are things we do wrong and we must confess them. If you die lost, my friend, you cannot blame God, you are to blame!!!
There is no unjustness about our Savior!!!
Have a great day!!!
Nehemiah 9:1-38 KJV
Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them. [2] And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. [3] And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God one fourth part of the day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God. [4] Then stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried with a loud voice unto the LORD their God. [5] Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise. [6] Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee. [7] Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham; [8] And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous: [9] And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea; [10] And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day. [11] And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou threwest into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters. [12] Moreover thou leddest them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way wherein they should go. [13] Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments: [14] And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant: [15] And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them. [16] But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and hardened their necks, and hearkened not to thy commandments, [17] And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not. [18] Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is thy God that brought thee up out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations; [19] Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go. [20] Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst. [21] Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not. [22] Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and didst divide them into corners: so they possessed the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan. [23] Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it. [24] So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would. [25] And they took strong cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness. [26] Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations. [27] Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.

This morning, we will be looking at 2 Chronicles 28. Our Fire-starter thought is: blinded!!!
We often are blinded and we do not even realize it.
Ahaz Is king and he is going to offer up sacrifices to the gods of Damascus and his thought is of they helped him they can help me.
What Ahaz didn't understand and sometimes we don't understand it is not the gods of this world that helps us.
Damascus's god didn't help them conquer anyone the God of Heaven allowed them to conquer.
Sometimes we will look at a Job or ministry opportunity or anything and say if it helped them then I will give it a shot and maybe it will help me.
We are not living off of someone else's success if you will we must rely on God and trust him.
Ahaz as we know sacrifices to the god of Damscus so he could get help.
Can I ask you this morning are you being blinded by gods this morning.
Some people think well staying out of church on Sunday ain't too bad look at all the money I am making. If it worked for them it will work for me.
We are to be different!!! We must rely on God because that is where the reward comes from.
You need to find out if what you are following is the god of this world or the God of Heaven.
Ahaz was blinded by it. He said they helped them then they can help me. Truth is God helped them and God can help you this morning.
Don't be blinded this morning make sure what you are seeing is from the God of Heaven!!!
2 Chronicles 28:1-27 KJV
Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord, like David his father: [2] For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim. [3] Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel. [4] He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree. [5] Wherefore the Lord his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter. [6] For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah an hundred and twenty thousand in one day, which were all valiant men; because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers. [7] And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the governor of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king. [8] And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria. [9] But a prophet of the Lord was there, whose name was Oded: and he went out before the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because the Lord God of your fathers was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage that reacheth up unto heaven. [10] And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: but are there not with you, even with you, sins against the Lord your God? [11] Now hear me therefore, and deliver the captives again, which ye have taken captive of your brethren: for the fierce wrath of the Lord is upon you. [12] Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, stood up against them that came from the war, [13] And said unto them, Ye shall not bring in the captives hither: for whereas we have offended against the Lord already, ye intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel. [14] So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the congregation. [15] And the men which were expressed by name rose up, and took the captives, and with the spoil clothed all that were naked among them, and arrayed them, and shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon asses, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brethren: then they returned to Samaria. [16] At that time did king Ahaz send unto the kings of Assyria to help him. [17] For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives. [18] The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, and Ajalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho with the villages thereof, and Timnah with the villages thereof, Gimzo also and the villages thereof: and they dwelt there. [19] For the Lord brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed sore against the Lord. [20] And Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria came unto him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not. [21] For Ahaz took away a portion out of the house of the Lord, and out of the house of the king, and of the princes, and gave it unto the king of Assyria: but he helped him not. [22] And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the Lord : this is that king Ahaz. [23] For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel. [24] And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the Lord, and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem. [25] And in every several city of Judah he made high places to burn incense unto other gods, and provoked to anger the Lord God of his fathers. [26] Now the rest of his acts and of all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. [27] And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem: but they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.

Our Fire-starter thought is how to prosper our Fire-starter scripture is 2 Chronicles 26.
In the world's eyes someone that has money, a big house, and a good business is a prosperous person. Although that may be true, these are not the only thing that makes someone prosperous.
Prosper means to be successful; to succeed.
While we may be successful in the world's eyes are we living a prosperous life in God's eyes?
Prospering is not a term we like to use because we use it in the world's standing but we will use it this morning.
2 Chronicles 26:5 KJV
And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.
There was a way for Uzziah to prosper and that was to seek the Lord.
Notice this, in the world's eyes he is king, he has money, he has servants and maids but if he didn't seek the Lord none of that mattered.
He was not a prosperous man when he didn't seek the Lord.
Success is not measured by the world's eyes because we will not stand before the World we will stand before the Word!!!!
My prosperity and your prosperity doesn't come from a great job, a big house and a wallet full of money. Success and prosperity only comes from the Lord.
Notice with me what Joshua 1:8 states.
Joshua 1:8 KJV
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Not only seeking the Lord causes us to prosper but the Word of God causes us to prosper.
If I can go through the day and make right decisions according to the Bible then I would say that I have been prosperous, yet if I don't make decisions according to the Word of God then my way is not prosperous because I have not only not sought God through prayer but also have not gotten counsel according to the Word of God.
Be prosperous today and live a life according to the Bible and seeking the Lord.
I encourage you to make your day prosperous by following these two principles.
Have a great day!!!
2 Chronicles 26:1-23 KJV
Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah. [2] He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers. [3] Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem. [4] And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah did. [5] And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper. [6] And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines. [7] And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gur-baal, and the Mehunims. [8] And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly. [9] Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them. [10] Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry. [11] Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains. [12] The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred. [13] And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy. [14] And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones. [15] And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong. [16] But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense. [17] And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the Lord, that were valiant men: [18] And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the Lord, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the Lord God. [19] Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar. [20] And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the Lord had smitten him. [21] And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord : and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land. [22] Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write. [23] So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

This morning we will not be in 2 Chromicles. The Fire-starter thought is: reaching the full capacity of what you are capable of.
I was in a church yesterday morning, the church name is irrelevant for what I am about to say, and we had a wonderful service.
As I walked in the building I found myself in a building that could seat five hundred easily.
Out of five hundred that could fit in the auditorium there was five in the congregation six if you include me.
My whole purpose of telling you this this morning is not to down the church for having five but rather see the importance of the message.
See we can down a church for having five in a building that can seat five hundred while there are so many Christians that are not living up to capacity of their capability.
Five is a start but please don't be content with the five when you can reach five hundred.
When you are capable of helping someone live up to your capacity
When you can encourage someone encourage them up to your capacity.
See I don't know what you are capable of doing and you do not know what I am capable of doing. That's why we must be living up to our capacity.
You do as much as you can and I do as much as I can and we can get alot done for the Lord.
Friend live up to your capacity!!!!
Have a "capable" kind of day!!!!

Thank you for taking time to read the Fire-starter each morning. Please continue to pass this along to others.
We are in 2 Chronicles 13 today and the Fire-starter thought is: a match that will never be won.
I want you to imagine this morning you are 3 feet tall fighting against a 7 foot tall person. You are weak and he works out every day and has muscles and your coach has ordered you to fight this opponent. Most will say, I am not going to do that because every time I fight him he will win and I will not stand a chance to winning the fight.
So many of us fight so much against God and we always lose and sometimes we are poor sports as well when it comes to losing.
God sometimes backs off of fighting so you will understand that it's easier to not fight against the Lord.
In what area are you fighting God this morning?
I like the advice given in verse 12 And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.
..fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.
Some advice this morning don't fight against God because you will not prosper.
When you and I fight his will guess what? There is no peace, no joy, no happiness. But when we go along with God's will there is peace joy and happiness.
When we fight against God when he has told us to get something right with another brother then there is fellowship broken not only with God but also with man.
Don't fight against God!!!
This is the match he will always win!!!
Think about what you are fighting against God for.
Is there a reason you are fighting him?
It may be as simple as telling the gospel to someone and you fight him to not do it.
Maybe you need to in love show someone their sin and you haven't done that yet.
Don't fight against God, you will never prosper.
Hope you have a great day!!!!
2 Chronicles 13:1-22 KJV
Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam began Abijah to reign over Judah. [2] He reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Michaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam. [3] And Abijah set the battle in array with an army of valiant men of war, even four hundred thousand chosen men: Jeroboam also set the battle in array against him with eight hundred thousand chosen men, being mighty men of valour. [4] And Abijah stood up upon mount Zemaraim, which is in mount Ephraim, and said, Hear me, thou Jeroboam, and all Israel; [5] Ought ye not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt? [6] Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, is risen up, and hath rebelled against his lord. [7] And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them. [8] And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods. [9] Have ye not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods. [10] But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the Lord, are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business: [11] And they burn unto the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the Lord our God; but ye have forsaken him. [12] And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper. [13] But Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind them: so they were before Judah, and the ambushment was behind them. [14] And when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind: and they cried unto the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. [15] Then the men of Judah gave a shout: and as the men of Judah shouted, it came to pass, that God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. [16] And the children of Israel fled before Judah: and God delivered them into their hand. [17] And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men. [18] Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers. [19] And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Beth-el with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof, and Ephrain with the towns thereof. [20] Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the Lord struck him, and he died. [21] But Abijah waxed mighty, and married fourteen wives, and begat twenty and two sons, and sixteen daughters. [22] And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways, and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo.
